Prison

Client: Interdisciplinary Thinking for Schools: Ethical Dilemmas (2020)
/ Hodder Education Group
Format: Textbook illustration
City: London, United Kingdom
Year: 2020
The illustration is featured in the school textbook titled Interdisciplinary Thinking for Schools: Ethical Dilemmas (2020). It teaches the youth about urban design, architecture, society, community, morality and what role design can and should play in it. The image is inspired by Norway’s Halden Prison designed to encourage inmate rehabilitation through a friendly and independence-oriented prison exterior/interior. It questions traditional ideologies of prisons as centres of punishment and seeking retribution from the criminal.
